Neath Port Talbot Carers Service is a service that was launched in April 2009.
Our aim of the service is to identify carers and to provide carers aged 18 and over in Neath Port Talbot with advice, information and support.
- a telephone and information service – providing signposting, information about benefits and entitlements, support services, Carers Rights including information about Carers Assessments, activities to promote improve health and well being, to support you in your caring role and much more.
- an outreach support service – providing advice and support in the community face-to-face in various community venues such as GP surgeries, the hospital, shopping centres and libraries
- coffee mornings and activities to provide carers with a break from caring and meet with other carers for mutual support.
- home visits to complete carers assessments, provide information or assist with completing benefit forms.
The service works closely with its partners – Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and ABMU Health Board, to ensure carers that are identified in Neath Port Talbot are provided with the right information at the right time
